What is Cruise Therapy?

Cruise therapy wasn’t something I planned.
It happened by accident.
I had booked a cruise with a friend, hoping for a little change of scenery. But just
before the trip, she realized she couldn’t find her passport. I had a choice to
make—cancel the trip or go alone.
I went.
I didn’t know it then, but that decision would change everything.
At the time, I was deep in grief. I had lost my son. My heart was heavy. I wasn’t sure I
could even enjoy being away. But something happened when I stepped onto that ship.
The ocean wrapped me in stillness. The waves didn’t ask anything of me. The world
quieted down. And for the first time in a long time… I breathed.
Cruise therapy is exactly that. It’s using the space, rhythm, and environment of a
cruise to pause, to process, to feel. Not because life is perfect—but because healing
needs room.
There were no doorbells. No expectations.
Just the open sea, a red hammock on the balcony, and permission to feel it all.
You don’t have to be “okay” to take a trip.
You don’t need a smile on your face to deserve peace.
You just need a moment where you can exist without pressure.
That first solo cruise gave me something I didn’t expect: healing. And now, I help
others find that same space—whether they’re grieving, overwhelmed, or just needing a
reset.
Sometimes, therapy happens in an office.
And sometimes, it happens at sea.
