Packing for a Healing Cruise What You Actually Need

Packing for a cruise is always exciting but when you’re also carrying grief, it can feel a bit heavier.
Healing travel isn’t just about where you go. Its also about how you show up for yourself. That starts with what
you bring.
Here’s what I’ve learned from experience both as a travel advisor and as a grieving mom:
Essentials for Any Cruise:- Comfortable sandals or slip-ons- Lightweight, breathable clothing- Swimsuits and a cover-up- One nicer outfit for dinners or shows- A crossbody or small day bag- Travel-size sunscreen, bug spray, and medications- Refillable water bottle- Packing cubes (game changer!)- Power strip or USB hub most cabins don’t have many outlets
Cruise-Specific Notes:- A red outfit for Scarlet Night (Virgin Voyages themed party night)- Pajamas or loungewear for the first-night pajama party (its late I skipped it, but I packed something just in
case)- Note: Most cruise ships have final boarding around 4pm. A same-day flight can work if its a nonstop, early
flight (68am)
For Emotional Support:- A journal or notebook- A photo of your loved one or small memento- A letter to write or bring- A soft shawl or wrap for comfort- A playlist of meaningful music- Something symbolic (feather, butterfly, or stone)- Tissues (trust me)
Optional But Meaningful:- LED candle for a personal moment- Matching shirts or jewelry if traveling in a group- Your travel advisors number saved (that’s me )
You don’t have to pack for perfection.
Just bring what lets you breathe, feel, and remember.
Id be honored to help you prepare for what you truly need both in your suitcase and in your heart.
